Undergraduate and Postgraduate students ages 18-29 years old from any ASEAN country are eligible to participate in the competition, regardless of field of study.
Teams must consist of 4–5 members. Participants may come from different universities and disciplines.
No. Teams can include students from any field — not only Computer Science or IT. Having members from different disciplines can even help your project (e.g., business, education, design, engineering, etc.).
Yes. Teams may consist of students from multiple universities. The team’s “official university” will be based on whichever institution has the highest number of members.
Yes. You can sign up individually first and form a team later through the official Discord server.
Yes, however, a group with fewer than 4 members is not eligible for judging. Each team must have 4 or 5 members to qualify for judging.
Yes. Postgraduates under the age of 30 can join this hackathon.
Not at all. The hackathon is beginner-friendly. Mentors and technical resources will be available to support you.

The BorNEO HackWknd 2026 Grand Final will take place on 9–10 May and will be conducted as a 24-hour hackathon. Finalist teams are encouraged to remain on-site for the full duration.
As this is a 24-hour hackathon, finalists are encouraged to stay overnight to fully participate. However, staying overnight is voluntary, subject to the venue rules and the participant’s own comfort and arrangements.
Participants are encourage to stay overnight on site therefore, extra accommodation is not provided by the organizers. Participants who wish to stay overnight outside of the venue must make their own arrangements. The Organizing Committee may share general suggestions upon request, but all bookings, costs, and logistics remain the participant’s responsibility.
No. Finalist participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the venue, including any related costs.
Yes. Food and beverages will be provided for participants throughout the hackathon on 9–10 May.
