By registering for BorNEO HackWknd 2026, all participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with the following Rules and Regulations set out below.

Participants must be between ages 18 - 29 years old in the year 2026.
Undergraduate and Postgraduate students from any ASEAN country are eligible to participate in the competition
Partner representatives, judges, mentors, and organizing committee members are not eligible to participate as participants/competitors.
Open to accredited ASEAN university students only.
Participants do not need to be from a technology or computer science background to be eligible. Students from all academic disciplines are welcome to join.
Team Size: Teams must consist of a minimum of four (4) participants and a maximum of five (5) participants.
Note: Participants are responsible for forming their own teams. After registering, participants may join the official Discord channel to find teammates.
Registration Fee: Registration for BorNEO HackWknd is free of charge.
To participate, all registrations must be submitted online through the official website: https://www.borneohackwknd.org/
Team members may be from the same university or from different universities.
All participants are required to attend all official sessions, including sub-events, throughout the competition.
Any attempt to tamper with the registration process, event flow, or results will result in immediate disqualification.
Participants must treat all attendees, judges, mentors, and collaborators with respect and courtesy at all times.
Applicability and Enforcement
All attendees, partner companies, and members of the BorNEO HackWknd 2026 Organising Committee must agree to and comply with this Code of Conduct. The organisers will enforce this Code throughout the event. All participants are expected to cooperate to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
Commitmment to a Safe and Inclusive Environment
BorNEO HackWknd 2026 is committed to providing an environment that is safe, inclusive, and free from harassment for all persons, regardless of gender, age, race, nationality, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status.
Zero Tolerance for Harassment
Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, verbal, physical, written, or online harassment; intimidation; bullying; stalking; unwanted sexual attention; and the use of sexual language or imagery.
Scope of the Code of Conduct
Such conduct is not appropriate in any event setting, including hackathon submissions, sessions, presentations, demos, workshops, side events, social gatherings, as well as on social media, messaging platforms, or any other online channels related to the hackathon.
Reporting Harassment or Safety Concerns
If you experience harassment, witness harassment, or have any safety-related concerns, you should immediately inform a member of the BorNEO HackWknd 2026 Organising Committee. Reports may also be submitted via email to the organisers so that appropriate action can be taken promptly.
Enforcement Actions
The organisers reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to take any action deemed appropriate in response to violations of this Code of Conduct. This may include issuing warnings, removing individuals from specific activities, disqualifying teams, or expelling individuals from the event without refund or compensation, and where necessary, contacting venue security or relevant authorities.
Acknowledgement and Agreement
By participating in BorNEO HackWknd 2026 (including as an attendee, partner, mentor, judge, speaker, volunteer, or organiser), you acknowledge and agree to comply with this Code of Conduct and cooperate with any reasonable measures taken to enforce it.
The BorNEO HackWknd 2026 Organising Committee reserves the right to amend, update, or modify these Rules and Regulations at any time without prior notice. Where reasonably practicable, participants will be informed of any changes through the official communication channels as soon as possible. Participants are responsible for regularly checking these channels for updates.
The BorNEO HackWknd 2026 Organising Committee reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to remove, eliminate, or disqualify any participant or team that is found to be in breach of these Rules and Regulations or whose conduct is deemed to undermine the integrity, safety, or fairness of the event.
Participation in BorNEO HackWknd 2026 is at the participant’s own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Organising Committee shall not be liable for any loss, damage, liability, injury, cost, expense, or claim (whether direct or indirect) suffered by any participant or any third party arising from or in connection with participation in the event and/or the acceptance or use of any prize.
Any personal information provided by participants to the BorNEO HackWknd 2026 Organising Committee will be handled securely and used only for purposes related to the administration of the event and in accordance with these Rules and Regulations (including, where necessary, participant verification and identification), unless the participant has provided explicit consent for specific additional purposes.
